Types of Braces
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable trays that straighten your teeth like braces. Not only are the aligners invisible, they are also removable. Many of our patients like that feature because you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are less of a hassle! The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. If our doctors determine you to be a candidate, we now offer clear aligner treatment to adults, teenagers and kids.
Clear Braces
Clear braces are made of clear materials (polycrystalline alumina) and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, our clear braces are used mainly on teens and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns.
Metal Braces
In our office we use self-ligating metal braces, which are made from the same materials as traditional braces. However, self-ligating braces do not require the use of elastic ties, meaning fewer appointments, less treatment time, and less friction being placed on the teeth. This makes the entire braces experience more comfortable and pleasant for our patients! Our self-ligating braces use a specialized clip in place of colored elastic ties to help the wire guide teeth into place in a more comfortable and efficient way. Although the colors are not required, we can add them on the braces if requested.
