The first step of the Invisalign process is determining whether or not you are a good fit for the treatment. Certified by Align Technology, Drs. Hanigan and Johnson can provide proper Invisalign diagnosis and treatment.
Once you have been approved to receive Invisalign treatment, your personal Invisalign aligners will be custom made using advanced computer technology.
From there, each specially calibrated Invisalign aligner will be worn for one week. As this process continues, each time an aligner is replaced your teeth will gradually move closer and closer towards the final optimal position. Invisalign patients are seen every 8-10 weeks which means you will miss less time from school or work!
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about one week, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages nine to 15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
